Update on Actions for Wednesday 31 May
A Reminder and An Update on Actions for Wednesday 31 May
Kia ora koutou,
Rather than strike, the NZEI (teachers’ union) members have decided to run paid union meetings (PUMs) between 1pm and 3 pm on Wednesday 31 May. Hence, the teachers will not be striking, however they will be stopping work to attend meetings between 1pm and 3pm. This situation is completely out of our control and we understand that it is not ideal.
This does create some health and safety issues for us as we cannot provide full supervision for the entire school whilst the teachers attend these meetings.
As teachers will be occupied in meetings and we will not be able to provide full supervision, we are asking for your support by picking up your tamariki by 12.45pm on Wednesday 31 May. This is to avoid any confusion at 1pm, so that we know who we have remaining at school. The school will not be closed, but there will be minimal supervision available, therefore I am concerned about health and safety if we have the whole school remaining behind.
I respectfully ask that you check in with Louise at the office by 12.45pm and then go to your child’s class to pick them up. This is to enable the teachers to see who has been picked up.
Kelly Club will operate, as normal, at 3pm.
Your support and understanding is, once again, very much appreciated.
ngā mihi

Tonight – Restorative Practice information evening
Just a reminder that we have our parent information evening regarding Restorative Practice, tonight, Monday 29 May at 6pm in the Hall.
We would love to see you there to learn about our behaviour management programme and how restorative practice is beneficial to all at our school.
Alert due to rainfall
Due to the heavy rain, we have had a number of calls to see if the school is open.
We are still open, however, if you would like to pick your child up early, you may do so as it will help to ease the rush at 3pm. Again, we are open and you do not have to pick your tamariki up, but you may, if you wish to do so. Please check in at the office if you are picking your child/children up early. Many thanks for your support Megan Royal Oak School
